Given the placement in the album, perhaps I should
have called this song “Interlude”, but
on its own it does feel more like a prelude, like
the setting of a stage. Originally it was “Prelude
to Thirst” (that being the next song), but that
didn’t sound right either. It’s another
old lyric in one of my notebooks, something that I
found fit in well with the idea of drought that is
central to this album. The musical accompaniment is
a sound collage comprised of unused footage from other
songs.
