In June 2004, my friend Paul Gelbach came for a visit from Seattle. We went to Flensburg (northern Germany) and hooked up with David Alleckna, another friend. Among other things, we spent a few hours improvising jams while switching around on various instruments. Sometimes we played two instruments simultaneously -- like David tapping out the pulse on the kick bass while laying down a bass line on his electric bass. Here's a few samples. It's rough, it's live, it's weird -- it's improvised.
Reformed Rabbit
Marco Klaue: electric guitar, keyboard, bottle;
Paul Gelbach: amplified mandolin;
David Alleckna: bass guitar, kick bass drum.
Bamboo Fjord
Marco Klaue: quena (bamboo flute)
Paul Gelbach: Erhu (Chinese violin)
David Alleckna: bass guitar, kick bass drum
Permanent Growth Phase
Marco Klaue: keyboard
Paul Gelbach: Erhu
David Alleckna: bass guitar, kick bass drum.
Distorted Guitar and Bass Solo
(these were the last seconds before our recording space ran out. Dave decided to go for a bass solo over a riff that Paul had set down.)
David Alleckna: bass guitar, kick bass drum
Paul Gelbach: electric guitar
Marco Klaue: quena.
