This song, too, had a melody going with it long before there were any words. It would probably not exist otherwise. Any time I try to describe something beautiful, my efforts mock me and the results seem blasphemous. (This is part of the reason why most of my songs are “down”.) I don’t think I would have been satisfied with the text had I come up with it on its own, but I liked the music and the way the words fit into it. I have since accepted the lyric as well, though it does seem very fragile.
